Travel to Cartagena

Nearest Airport

Rafael Núñez International (CTG) in Cartagena. Direct flights from major US, Canadian, and European hubs.

When to Come

Eoin and Laura will be in Cartagena from April 1-7. Come and go whenever suits you — the one essential is being here for Saturday, April 3, when we celebrate.

Passport

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months past your travel date. Double-check now — renewals can take weeks.

Visas

Most US, UK, EU, and Canadian passport holders do not need a tourist visa for stays under 90 days. Always verify with your consulate before booking.

Currency

Bring Colombian pesos (COP). Most places in Cartagena are cash-only, so plan to carry pesos for taxis, tips, restaurants, and shops. Larger hotels and some restaurants take credit cards, but don't rely on cards for everyday spending. ATMs are plentiful in Bocagrande and the Old City.

Getting Around

Taxis and Uber are inexpensive. Bocagrande and the walled Old City (Ciudad Amurallada) are walkable — bring comfortable shoes for cobblestones.
